- Wild Oak is owned by award winning chef Ben Higgs who is passionate about fresh local produce. His menu is unique and flavour driven to excite the palate and the specials menu is packed with the best produce on the day. With a great wine list and an atmosphere that is sophisticated but not stuffy, Wild Oak is ideal for a special occasion or just to have a great meal out.

- Immerse of the Yarra Valley has come to Olinda, bringing with it their signature dishes and own wine. A casual cafe style during the day with Cellar Door wine tasting and a retail produce section turns into a fine dining atmosphere in the evening with lots of fresh produce. The courtyard out the back is a great place to sit with a glass of wine during the warmer months and the nude art in the restaurant is worth checking out.

- Coonara Springs overlooks 4 acres of 100 year old botanic gardens, with views across the Yarra Valley. It is a little further out than most restaurants but well worth the trip. Because the restaurant was established in 1893, the sloping floors just add to the charm (or was I just a little drunk?). The menu is imaginative with fresh local produce and the desserts are to die for.

- The Pig & Whistle has a great relaxed English Pub style atmosphere. The food is hearty with menu regulars such as Game Pie and Lamb Shanks and the specials board is always well worth a look with fresh seasonal produce. Wash it down with some great English and Australian ales. Take one of our business cards from your suite and get a 10% discount.

- Credo has a contemporary minimalist feel with a modern Australian menu. There is a wide range of options from eye fillet and kangaroo to good pasta and risotto. If you are vegetarian there are plenty of interesting dishes to choose from. Dining alfresco out the front watching the world go by in the warmer months is also very nice.

- Kelly's Bar and Kitchen is a log cabin dating back to the 1890's with a relaxed pub style restaurant with open fires and a cosy tavern area. During winter it is great to sit by the fire in the tavern area and in summer sitting out the front is great. With a great range of beers and a great seasonal menu, it is easy just to pop in for a drink but end up staying much longer.

- A touch of Italy in the hills, The Ivy is a modern Pizza and Mozarella Bar. With great pizzas and some wonderful slow cooked Italian dishes, there is something to please everyone. Dine inside in the modern interior or dine alfresco outside and watch the world go by.

- Ranges is a great place to stop for lunch or for a casual dinner. With a roaring open fire it is cosy in winter and the outside deck is great during the warmer months. There is plenty of variety on the menu and some perfect lunchtime dishes that won't weigh you down. All the better to continue shopping in Olinda.

- For a bit of hills kitsch you can't go past The Cuckoo. Pulling huge local, national and international crowds, you'd be forgiven for thinking you were suddenly in Bavaria. With a smorgasbord and unique atmosphere, the floor show is something not to be missed. Great for a laugh and to be transported somewhere different for a while but be warned - this is definitely a theme restaurant and done very well.

- A favourite with locals for many years, Ripe has always kept a low profile on the main Sassafras strip. But once you've found it, it's hard to go to lunch anywhere else. With a fantastic menu selection of flavour and taste it’s easy to see why the locals like to keep it their secret. Try and book a table out on the deck in the warmer months.

- This hidden gem serves up some amazing modern Middle Eastern & European foods. The 'Mezze Platter' is a great choice to try the best of Lady Hawke with its wonderful dips, anti pasti and deli produce and you don't have to be a meat eater as they have a vegetarian option as well. The menu changes regularly to take advantage of seasonal produce but the flavours and style are consistently good.
