If you want a bit more from your night out than just dinner and a few drinks you may fancy a bit of live music. From well known bands to local jazz, blues and contemporary covers, whatever your taste you are bound to find something to suit.

Ruby's is one of the best live music venues in Melbourne with a great ambience and decor. It is off the mountain, but its size let's you enjoy bands in a much more intimate setting making it well worth the trip. With live music every week and the likes of Sarah Blasko, James Reyne and Ash Grunwald playing there in the past it's worth checking out the website for details of upcoming gigs.
- Mt Dandenong Village Sunday Afternoons
Wild Oak is a wonderful venue for good food, wine and music. Enjoy Live Jazz Piano every Sunday from 12.30pm to 3.30pm. Book in for lunch and stay to enjoy the music. Once a month they also hold Friday night Jazz with a range of great jazz bands playing. - Mt Dandenong Village Fridays and Sundays
In the tradition of a true English Tavern, the entertainment at the Pig & Whistle kicks off on a Friday night at about 8pm after the busy dinner session is drawing to an end. In the bar section a small band will bring you some old classics and also some new stuff. Book for dinner and stay for some great English Ales and listen to the band. This is repeated on a Sunday from 3pm.

The Mt Dandenong Hotel is definitely the place for jazz and blues. Every Saturday night in the lounge bar you can have a drink and listen to the best jazz and blues in the area. Watch the board outside for who's playing. On a Sunday there is a Jam Session in the public bar from 4pm - 10pm where you can bring along your instrument and jam with other musicians - or just have a drink and listen.
